A wonderful book that tells the fable of a Spanish sheperd boy who searches for his dream of distant treasure only to find through his encounters with people along the way, including the alchemist, the true purpose and meaning of life. The author teaches teens to reach for their goals while understanding the importance of love, and respect for a higher power. There are many beautiful philosophical quotes that can be taught through this book. Ex. "When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."
